The Letter

Each month, you can choose to participate by paying what you want for that month's letter. You'll receive an email invitation to continue for the following month - no automatic charges or commitments.

when will I get my letter? Everyone who signs up before the 18th of the month will get a letter sent out on the 20th. Sign up after the 18th, and expect it the following month.

what's included? You will receive:

• a letter

• a song (it might be a demo, a video, a work in process, or a final cut… it's all evolving but you will see it first, before anyone else)

• lyrics (think zine or poem format)

• and a QR code/link to access the song and other digital ephemera to explore each month. Here you will find playlists that inspired me, books, films, art, weird stuff… but not an endless doomscroll. It's a garden, sprawling and generative.

The proceeds from the project are funneled into paying for stamps, paper, stickers etc etc… and overages go into a fund to help pay for studio time, paying other musicians to play on my album, mixing and mastering, pressing vinyl and all the expenses that go with creating a self-release.

Each month, you will receive an email with the option to join the next month's letter. Simply click and opt to receive The Letter again if you would like another round!

Just don't sign up that month! You can always join back in whenever you want. If you want to completely stop receiving sign up emails, simply unsubscribe.

This project is Pay What You Want, which means, seriously, do just that.

The minimum amount via Stripe (my payment processor) is $1.

Materials for each letter run about $2 (stamps, envelopes, paper, printing, ink etc etc).

Everything over that is your investment into the art. You can go around telling people, "I invested in Little Door's first EP," if you want. It kinda makes you sound cool.

Now you might be thinking - dude, that seems complicated. Why not just make it a subscription and charge people automatically?

Good question.

Well, because I think people are tired of having automatic charges and feeling like their money is just being zapped out of their account.

And honestly, I want the feedback.

If you think the value sucks and you don’t want it anymore, I would like to know that. I don’t want to send it to folks who don’t enjoy it. I want to cultivate a group of folks who are super into this, and repeat engagement is an awesome indicator. It’s an experiment!

If you made a mistake on your shipping address or you move and need to update it, you can email theletter@littledoormusic.com.

Stamps! via the US Postal Service, bro! No tracking… so we are out here in the wild west of mail.

we ship worldwide, with the exception of the uae and bangladesh.

Domestic subscribers should expect their letter within 1 week of the ship date. international subscribers should expect delivery to take 3–5 weeks. customs and postal delays are outside of our control, but we'll always do our best to make it right.

Since each month is a separate purchase, there's nothing to cancel! Simply don't sign up for the next month's letter when you receive the email invitation. If you want to make sure you don't receive future invitations, email theletter@littledoormusic.com and we'll remove you from the list. No sweat.
